Petra Breuer-Küppers works as educational assistent at the department 512 (Förderschulen / Schulen für Kranke) at the Ministerium für Schule und Weiterbildung des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen. Before that she was teaching at the LVR-Hanns-Dieter-Hüsch-Schule - Schule für Kranke in Viersen and is a lecturer at the University of Cologne. Her fields of study are biology and special needs education. In 2008 she took part at her first Science on Stage festival in Berlin. Ever since she is actively campaining for the matters of primary school e.g. by excursions to pilot schools in Spain and Italy, the development of teaching material such as 'Lantern Moon and Hot Ears. Promoting language skills in primary school' or the organisation of teacher trainings and workshops. She is also is a member of the BackstageTeam of Science on Stage Germany.
