Language promotion in primary school with science

Language is key to knowledge and social participation. Already in primary school the skills gap of children should be closed by systematic language-promotion: Not only students with migrant background but also native speakers need assistance. Inquiry-based learning on scientific supports language promotion in an exceptional way and fullfills the requirements of inclusive teaching.

At the new Science on Stage project 'Promote Language Skills with Experiments' ten teachers of seven countries develop teaching units around the topic 'house': Students explore their everyday life in bathroom, kitchen and living room with scientific experiments and acquire language skills. These experimental units are completed by methodological recommendations.
