Brer Rabbit, Rare Rabbit - Material for biology classes: Directional Selection, Allele Frequencies & Evolution (iStage 1)

Was uns Kaninchen in der Biologie lehren: Gerichtete Selektion, Allelfrequenz & Evolution (iStage 1)

This simulation activity is aimed at students age 16 – 18 studying Advanced Level Biology.

It is designed to help them understand core principles related to the study of allele frequency in a gene pool such as the inheritance of dominant and recessive alleles in monohybrid Mendelian crosses, the Hardy-Weinberg Principle or the evolution as a change in allele frequencies in a population over a period of time.

Please find the additional material mentioned in the text below. The project is taken from the brochure ‘iStage: ICT in Science Teaching’ from the unit ‘Biology and Health’. You can download the complete brochure here (printed version no longer available). The material has been developed by 22 teachers from 15 countries. The project has been supported by SAP.

Please find additional material for this teaching unit here.
